The Actual Trip

We were on the road Friday July 20th at 8:30am central time (we couldn't drop Sandy off at our kennel until 8:00am), very excited to have our first family vacation since becoming a family. From here to Indianapolis went without a hitch, flying low to the ground....then the 465 bypass around Indianapolis brought us to a screeching halt. Never, in all the times I had travelled from here to college in Greenville, SC had I ever moved so slow on that bypass.... We also encountered numerous construction zones and accidents from that point on. We had hoped to reach Asheville, NC before stopping but only made it to a little town called Richmond, KY by 9:00pm central time. Saturday morning we were up at 4:30am and hit the road by 5:30am eastern time. Once again we hit a few construction slow downs and accidents and our 17 hour trip turned into a total of 25 hours by the time we reached our destination at 6:00pm Eastern time. But finally...we were there....
