Fence Building

Our weekend project for Memorial Day weekend was a new, taller, and thicker fence for the backyard. Our neighborhood is not in the safest of locations and last week there a shoot out that involved a Central High School teachers car having 5 bullets in it as well as a Palmer College students car having a few bullets as well. This parking lot is located a half block from our house. There were also 3 other shootings in the city, one which was about 5 blocks from our home and the other 2 were in places that aren't known for violence. Just proves that no matter where you live, something can happen. We decided that we needed a better fence to help protect us. While we know that fence will more than likely not STOP a bullet, it may slow it down it least. Some of you will recall that our home was on the market a couple years ago but because we couldn't find a home within our price range AND there was no interest from a buyer, we decided the Lord wanted us to stay put. We still feel this is where the Lord wants us as our home is paid for and if we were to take on a mortgage, I would have to give up homeschooling and the kids would be placed in public school and that is not an option for us as we also know that it is the Lord's will that we homeschool. Anyways, here are some pictures of our project in process:
