It is hard to believe that we have wrapped up another homeschool year at our house...sigh.... 165 days of exploration and imagination all passed. Maddie is so excited to now be a 2nd grader. Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were learning the alphabet and now she is reading chapter books and starting to write cursive.... She helped me in the nursery Sunday night and had 3 of the children in her lap reading to them...a Kodak moment and I was without my camera. In math we have started fractions and 2 digit addition and subtraction, history opened her eyes to Indians, Pilgrims, and early settlers, and her favorite subject, Science, allowed her to explore the weather (we even made a tornado out out of a 2L pop bottle) and how God made us each unique. Even though summer break is upon us, the learning really never ends so we are looking forward to each and every day with anticipation as to what it will bring for us. She is very excited about seeing the ocean for the first time this summer and can't wait to hunt for shells and build a "ginormous" sandcastle. We can't wait to experience all this through our children's eyes.... God is good to grant us the desire of children by means of His perfect plan. :o)
