Here Fishy Fishy

Over the past couple of days we have been creating an aquatic ecosystem, otherwise known as a fish tank. Our friend Tess has had many fish over the years and helped us pick out fish that would be kind to each other, not reproduce oodles of more fish, and yet make our tank very colorful. We told the kids if they made lots of baby fish, we would have to flush most of the babies because our tank isn't big enough to have lots of fish. Jack thought a moment and then said "mom, I have an idea." I asked him what his idea was. He said "we should flush the mommy and daddy fish instead!" Hummmm...guess I better sleep with one eye open from now on! Here are the fish we have. We have a dalmatian tetra named Spot, a black molly fish named Mavis (after a train on Thomas the Tank Engine videos), an orange sword tail fish named Rambo (obviously that was daddy's fish), a white fish named Princess, 2 scum sucker fish named Hoover and Dyson (they "vacuum" the bottom of the tank and keep it clean), and 6 tiny schooling zebra fish all named Racing Stripes.
