They Look So Much Like You...
I meant to post this earlier and forgot until now. On Wednesday the kids and I were getting groceries at Aldi up the street from us. While we were shopping, we noticed that a guy kept looking at us. It was starting to make me nervous so I pulled the kids in closer and we tried to go on with our shopping. Finally he said to me "I bet you are wondering why I keep looking at the 3 of you. I am just intrigued by how much your kids look like you!" I just smiled and said thank you for the kind words and he went his merry way. We hear this over and over, most of the people don't even know our kids are adopted that tell us this. It will never cease to amaze me how God destined our kids just for us. They are not bone of our bone nor flesh of our flesh but God planned for them to look like us and have our personalities. When I think of all the babies that die every day from "choice" when there are so many families who long to have a child, it is overwhelming...and yet God destined for us to have Maddie and Jack. Praise the Lord for this gift given to us through a woman we never knew until we walked the adoption road. As the Psalmist said in Psalm 139:13-17 "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!"

I have seen this same thing happen over and over in families who adopt. Thank goodness children are spared and given the opportunity to be raised in a Christian home!
