West Point, IA Corn Festival

Last night we attended the West Point, IA Corn Festival for the first time ever. It will definitely be something we plan to make a family tradition every year. The sweet corn was very sweet and they dipped them in butter which made it even better. Oh, and the sweet corn was FREE! They also had carnival rides and we usually don't waste money on such but at this particular festival, the rides were less expensive than we had ever seen in the Quad Cities while living there. The kids were able to experience amusement park type rides for the first time and they LOVED them! I think a trip to a real amusement park is in order for next summer's family vacation.

Maddie was a little uncertain about the Ferris Wheel. In face, watching her go up the first time, I wondered if she would panic because the look on her face was very terrified looking. Jack let us know that she was repeating over and over "Don't move! We are rocking! We might fall out!" He also informed us that he was never scared...tee hee

The giant slide. Jack wasn't impressed that the guy made him ride the pink side...but he was impressed at how fast he went. Maddie thought this was the best slide ever!

On two wheels....

In case you couldn't tell, they LOVED the kiddie roller coaster...Jack's face pretty much sums it up!

The Bumper Cars were a hit as well. Jack's cap kept falling into his eyes every time he would get bumped and Maddie would get tickled whenever she would bump someone.

Remember you know SOMEONE who can get you all into Adventureland for $19.50 each next year.... if God leads us back as Assistant Chaplains.

I just heard today that the ferris wheel that the kids are riding in was once owned by Micheal Jackson at his "NEVER LAND RANCH" I heard this on WHO radio they said that it was at the sweet corn festival at West Point.
