The following is from an email I sent out concerning Jack's eyes that will explain the pictures Jack is holding.
We have a prayer request. Today both kids had eye appointments. Maddie just needed new glasses which is normal for her about every 6 months to a year because of the amblyopia. We had some surprising news concerning Jack though. He is showing signs of pediatric glaucoma. This is caused by either heredity, which we have no idea about that or from possible premature birth, which we have no idea about that either, or both. Our ophthalmologist is going to track him closely the next 1 - 2 years, checking him every 6 months (or more if needed) to see if they get worse or stay the same. The last time he saw the eye doctor was almost 4 years ago and they didn't take pictures of the insides of his eyes then so we don't know if they have always been like this or if this is something new. The good news is that in young children, it is more treatable than in adults and it is not something he can die from. We are thankful for small bumps...they are easier to handle than big bumps some times.
We will keep you posted after our next appointment in December.
